Lake District based Wedding Photographer

About me

Hi and welcome to my website. I’m Stuart a Lake District based wedding and elopement photographer.

I first learnt photography during my 13 year service in the British Army. I wasn’t employed as a press photographer, it was more of a hobby. But eventually my images were being used in Army publications and for regimental events. After leaving the British Army I’ve done a variety of different work but have always kept photography close to my heart.

My first experience of wedding photography was in the USA. I moved there in 2022, and while out there a couple of friends had asked me to be their photographer for their wedding days. I was incredibly nervous as I felt it was a massive responsibility, but I ended up thriving and loving every minute. After that I decided to focus on weddings.

In early 2024 my fiancee Hannah and I moved to Dean in the Lake District. Since arriving here I decided to start my wedding photography business. I’ve invested in various wedding photography courses taught by award winning instructors, to ensure all of your happy memories are captured perfectly. I have also become a member of The Guild of Photographers and The Society of Photographers to further learn the craft and ensure I am working to industry standards.

Hannah, my fiancee has her own mobile massage business. So if you want a pre/post wedding massage please check out her page. RenewYou Holistic Therapies I can highly recommend her.

Why Choose The Lake District?

With its beautiful natural landscapes, the Lake District has become a firm favourite for Weddings and elopements, with some traveling across the world just to get married here. My fiancee and I are included in that, as we were living in the US when we booked to get married here. Not knowing that later in life we would live here!

Because the wedding industry is big here, it means there is plenty of choice of venues, caterers and photographers to choose from. Which is great for you as there will be options to suit every budget. Whether you want to have your wedding in the tourist towns such as Windermere or Keswick on the banks of a beautiful lake, or you prefer the small villages deep in the countryside surrounded by snow capped mountains.
